The Support Services Bureau aids the agency's five geographic patrol districts by performing a wide range of public safety, law enforcement, and emergency response roles. This bureau oversees the agency's special operations units, which include the Emergency Dispatch Center, Roadway Management Division, and Neighborhood Policing Division.
The Support Services Bureau is comprised of key agency personnel, including the Motor Assistance Program Unit, which provides a valuable service by clearing stranded vehicles from roadways, greatly improving public safety. It also includes the Community Policing Unit, which collaborates with local community resources to identify and solve neighborhood problems. This involves responding to individuals with mental and/or behavioral health needs through our Community and Problem-Oriented Policing Unit. Additionally, 911 call takers assess callers' needs and relay calls to the appropriate dispatchers.
