Roadway Management Division

The Roadway Management Division consists of our Motorist Assistance Program (MAP) and Incident Management Unit (IMU), both operating out of TranStar. We are a Regional Incident Management and Dispatch Program whose purpose is to facilitate quick clearance towing and removal of vehicles to lessen disruption of traffic flow and to increase public safety.

Our Incident Management Unit monitors cameras, looking for stalled vehicles and crashes, to help perform traffic control and manage traffic flow on the freeways. IMU Deputies, together with dispatchers, receive, process, and disseminate calls for service efficiently to attain an appropriate and timely public safety response, and complete incident reports as needed. These surveillance activities are conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round.

Our Motorist Assistance Program deputies aid motorists on freeways and offer courteous and professional service to individuals requiring vehicle assistance. In addition to aiding stranded motorists, deputies also investigate and complete crash reports. MAP operates 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday.
