On Thursday, August 20, 2015, at approximately 4:00 A. M., Harris County Detention Officer Tronoski Jones suffered a fatal heart attack while attempting to control a combative inmate at the Baker Street Jail facility. The inmate was being moved from a recreational area to a cell when he began to argue and resist. OC spray was deployed when he became combative and non-compliant. Detention Officer Jones collapsed during the incident and passed away a short time later. Detention Officer Jones had served with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for just nearly four years. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, two children, mother, and several siblings. Detention Officer Tronoski Jones was the 41st to die in the line of duty.
