The Office of Inspector General Bureau consists of the Internal Affairs Division and the Crime Analysis and Intelligence Division.
The Internal Affairs Division investigates allegations of misconduct by Harris County Sheriff’s Office personnel and reports the facts to uphold and maintain the agency’s integrity. Internal affairs investigators have extensive knowledge of agency policies and procedures, Texas criminal laws and statutes on public servants, public corruption, and misuse of office. The Bureau is a vital component to maintaining the public’s trust. Internal affairs investigators provide accountability for the agency and hold employees to the highest ethical standards.
The Crime Analysis and Intelligence Division leverages technology and data to establish efficient methods for deploying personnel and other critical resources. Analysts produce regular reports that outline crime and traffic patterns, as well as patterns of victimization, and lay the foundation for assessing effectiveness in the use of specific operational techniques to reduce high incidences of crashes and crime.
